Intermediate Sports Psychology Course Ends at NSCW

The four-day Intermediate Sports Psychology Course, organised by the National Sports College (NSC), Winneba, has successfully ended, with nineteen participants taking part in the training.
Held under the theme “Mental Preparation in Sport,” the course equipped participants with practical knowledge and insights into the psychological aspects of sports performance and the importance of mental readiness in achieving sporting success.
At the closing ceremony, participants expressed their appreciation to the facilitators for the valuable knowledge and insights shared throughout the course. They also encouraged colleagues and other sports professionals to take advantage of the various professional development courses offered by the College.

Facilitator Dr. John Elvis Hagan described the training as a worthwhile investment of time and effort, encouraging participants to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice. “It has been worth the time and the efforts. Never look back,” he urged.
Co-facilitator Dr. Medina Srem-Sai said she was happy and fulfilled by the engagement with the participants. She challenged them not to keep the knowledge gained to themselves but to go out and apply it in their respective fields.
“Don’t pocket what you have learnt. Go out there, deliver and make an impact,” she encouraged.
Speaking on behalf of the Director of the National Sports College, Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Appiah, Technical Director of the College, expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the tutorials. He stressed the importance of having experienced facilitators periodically engage with sports professionals at the College to help strengthen the development of athletes and sports personnel.

He thanked the facilitators for making time to come and share their expertise with the participants.
The College continues to encourage coaches, sports administrators, physical education professionals and other stakeholders to actively participate in its professional development programmes as part of efforts to strengthen sports development in Ghana
