NSCW PARTICIPATES IN LAUNCH OF 2026 ABOAKYIR FESTIVAL

The Director of the National Sports College, Mr. Fuseini Bawah, together with members of the College’s Management, honored an invitation from the Omanhen of the Effutu Traditional Council, Neenyi Ghartey VII, to attend the official launch of the 2026 Aboakyer Festival. The colorful ceremony brought together traditional authorities, community leaders, and key stakeholders to unveil plans for this year’s celebration of the revered Aboakyer Festival.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Bawah expressed the College’s delight at being associated once again with the historic festival. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to community engagement and cultural partnership, noting that the National Sports College considers the Aboakyer Festival an important platform for promoting sports development and youth participation within the Effutu Municipality and beyond.

As part of its contribution to the 2026 celebrations, the College has pledged to support and organize a range of sporting activities, including triathlon, athletics relay, boxing, and marathon events. These competitions are expected to add excitement to the festival while encouraging healthy lifestyles, nurturing talent, and strengthening community bonds.
