President of Ghana Athletics, Bawah Fuseini has been honored as the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Leader of the Year 2024. This recognition highlights his exceptional leadership and organizational efforts during the 13th African Games, hosted by Ghana in March 2024.
The CAA commended the athletics events at the games as the standout competition, praising its quality, organization, and enthusiastic public turnout in Accra. In its rankings, the CAA noted, “It was unanimously agreed that the best competition of the Games was the athletics events, both in terms of the quality of the organization and the attendance and enthusiasm of the public in the Ghanaian capital. President Bawah Fuseini played a major role in its success.”
Expressing gratitude for the award, Mr. Fuseini described it as a collective achievement for Ghana and an inspiration to elevate athletics in the country. He also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of stakeholders that contributed to the successful hosting of the games.
